Museums in Kochi - Almost all of the major museums are located in Ernakulam. The Hill Palace Museum or Thripunithara Museum is an ancient palace of the royals that houses important documents and relics of Kochi. The Building itself is magnificent, a fine blend of Kerala and European architecture. Other museums is Kochi highlight various other aspects of the city's life, the Madhavan Nayar Foundation being one of them. It offers a vivid idea of the ancient and the present where one can obtain a tour through Kerala's past to what it has emerged to become today.
The Maritime Museum in Fort Kochi maintained and managed by the Southern Navy gives an exhaustive display of the navy's assets including its establishment and operational methods. The museum is set in two bunkers that have been transformed into galleries.
The Portuguese Museum at the Bishop's House (another heritage monument), sponsored by the government of Portugal, showcases relics of old churches and details of the church's glorious part in Kochi.

Although Kochi is small compared to other metros, it still has
sufficient entertainment to offer. Its beaches and the sea offer an
exciting time to anybody. The Fort Kochi Beach and the Cherai Beach are
most visited, while a walk along the Marine Drive offers a fabulous view
of the Kochi harbour. The Priyadarshinni Park in Ernakulam is ideal for
kids with a traffic part next door. For a day out at an amusement park,
Vegeland is where families can indulge in a number of water games and
thrill rides. The park also has numerous restaurants and is comfortable
for a day's outing.

Hill Palace Archaeological Museum, Ernakulam
Built in 1865 as the official residence of the royal family, Kerala's
first heritage museum spread over 49 buildings amidst 52 acres of
terraced land, displays in its 132 galleries rare manuscripts,
jewellery, oil paintings, murals, sculptures and more.
Visiting hours: 9 am-12.30 pm, 2 pm-5pm, Monday closed. Entry

Museum of Kerala History, Ernakulam
At Edapally, the exhibits at the museum cover Neolithic to modern,
authentic reproductions of world masters and Indian art, gallery of
miniatures, and a dolls museum with about 150 dolls from world over.
Visiting hours: 10 am-12 noon, 2 pm-4 pm, Monday closed. Entry

Dutch Palace, Mattancherry
Built by the Portuguese in Kerala's nallukettu style, and removated by
the presented to Veeral Kerala Varma in 1555. It has old murals
depicting scenes from the Ramayana, a variety of weapons, royal clothes.
