The sacred Hindu observance of Holika Dahan (A day prior to Holi) will be celebrated on 7th March (Tuesday) in 2023.

Holika Dahan is a sacred Hindu festival celebrated annually on night before full moon day (Poornima) of Phalguna month. Hindu devotees especially women and children pray to Holika for wellbeing of their families. Holika Dahan is one of the much awaited annual festivals in Hindu calendar during the onset of summer season. In a small circular ceremony consisting of woods, people pray to Holika Dahan during sunlight.

In the evening or late night, a bonfire is lit and people pray around this Holika bonfire. People Roast "Jaw" also popular as "Upali" in the Holika Dahan fire, bring to their homes and spread all over. According to Hindy Mythology, it is beleived that it brings an end to all your problems in life. The sacred day dedicated to Holika is observed with all the rituals across North India.
